Seventh edition of Fumprock gets legends to visit
The seventh edition of Fumprock on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, will be a legendary one. The Diepenbeek festival will have true legends visiting with Rudeboy and DJ DNA from Urban Dance Squad and The Sha-La-Lee’s from Sore Loser Cedric Maes.
Rudeboy and DJ DNA, two lynchpins of the legendary band Urban Dance Squad will perform a set featuring their greatest classics such as “Demagogue,” “Deeper Shade of Soul” and “Fast Lane. Great crossover from the ’90s that shows that Rage Against the Machine went to get the mustard in the Netherlands.
The Sore Losers take a break, which gives guitarist Cedric Maes time to go full-on with his other band. The Sha-La-Lee’s are a band around the Limburg guitar virtuoso with support from Christophe Vaes (North Cape) on harmonica, among others. They play filthy, American guitar music in the best tradition of bands like MC5.
King Hiss has already had to cancel their farewell concert at Fumprock twice. Now it’s really going to happen. The farewell tour of this great Belgian stoner metal band will also visit Diepenbeek.
Faux Noir originated at the PXL Music in Hasselt. The band members met through a project and one thing led to another. Singer Anna Dutoit is a formidable singer and she is accompanied by musicians from just about everywhere, including Diepenbeek.
The festival will be opened and closed by two of the best cover bands in the region. Nachos for Machos will bring rock classics to warm up your dancing legs and the afterparty will be expertly brought to a boiling point with the Diepenbeek rock heroes of Clochards Deluxe.
