Few bands have a more solid live reputation than The Waterboys. When they played to a sold-out De Roma in 2017, the roof went off. On 28 March 2023, the band around Scottish singer and guitarist Mike Scott will return. With a new album under their belt as well as a bag full of irresistible hits.

The Waterboys caused a furore in the 1980s with world hit The Whole Of The Moon, taken from hit album This Is The Sea. The mix of country, gospel and Irish folk made the music of inspirer Mike Scott and his men groundbreaking and distinctive. Scott went solo for a while in the early 1990s, but The Waterboys never let him go, and after the turn of the millennium he resumed playing under that name.

The Waterboys are one of those bands that stubbornly keep doing their thing regardless of all trends and fluctuations in the music landscape. Album after album, they release timeless quality rock that grabs you by the throat from the first notes. After the successful release of the critically acclaimed Modern Blues in 2015 and the double album Out Of All This Blue in 2017, the amazing Where The Action Is and most recently All Souls Hill followed.

So much class does not go unnoticed. The Waterboys’ songs have been covered by the likes of Prince and The War On Drugs. And with The Whole Of The Moon and How Long Will I Love You, they made two immense hits that are forever etched in the collective music memory.(Source :De Roma)
