In 2026, The Wolf Banes will celebrate their 40th anniversary—an exceptional milestone for a Belgian rock band that has stubbornly gone its own way since 1986. What started in Lier with a bunch of rebellious musicians grew into one of the most idiosyncratic and beloved bands on the Belgian rock scene.
Known for the Belpop classic ‘As The Bottle Runs Dry’, the sadly still relevant ‘Mile Away From Here’, campfire favorite ‘Fire In The Woods’, and garage classic ‘(Shit I Love) Barbara Carrera’, The Wolf Banes distinguished themselves from the start with their raw energy, playful humor, and infectious songs. Their reputation as an explosive live band was quickly confirmed by clubs and festivals.
Forty years later, nothing has changed: in 2026, The Wolf Banes are a well-oiled live machine with their recently released album ‘Sugar Skull’ and the single ‘Julienne Brunoise’.
