21st edition, first wave of names revealed: Amphi Festival returns to the Tanzbrunnen with VNV Nation, Deine Lakaien, Blutengel and more — and tickets are already flying
The Amphi Family barely had time to catch its breath after this year’s 20th anniversary edition before the countdown to Amphi Festival 2027 began. Organizers have now dropped the first band announcement, confirming that the 21st edition will once again take over the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne on Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25, 2027.
As always, this is just the opening salvo — more names and full programme details will follow over the coming months — but the first wave already sets a high bar.
The headliners
VNV Nation return with an Old School Set, promising a night built around the futurepop pioneers’ classic material — a genuine treat for longtime fans of the genre. Deine Lakaien bring their unmistakable blend of dark wave and art-pop sophistication, while Blutengel add their theatrical, gothic-industrial energy to the top of the bill.

Rounding out the first announcement: TR/ST , Nachtblut , Die Krupps Harms , and Aesthetic Perfection — a mix of genre veterans and current dark electronic forces.
Also confirmed: Sierra Veins, Darkways, Steintor Herrenchor, Manntra, The Beauty of Gemina, A Life Divided, Tyske Ludder, Horskh, Blitz Union, Aux Animaux, Night in Athens, Bragolin, Ghostbells, Oberer Totpunkt, Lone Assembly, Blackbook, Psycholies, Huir, and Wiegand — a lineup already spanning EBM, dark wave, industrial, and gothic rock, with plenty more acts and side-programme details still to come.
