Sjock Festival 2026 in Gierle, Belgium, celebrates its 50th edition from Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July 2026 with a powerful rock ’n’ roll line-up. The first names already confirm that this anniversary will be one for the books.
Headliners and Line-up
-
Friday’s main act is American singer Chris Isaak, known for worldwide hits like Wicked Game and Blue Hotel and his mix of country, blues, rock ’n’ roll and pop.
-
Sunday brings rock icon Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, famous for the classic I Love Rock ’n’ Roll, to the main stage.
-
On Saturday, Danish rock and noisepop band The Raveonettes joins a strong bill that also features Osees, Southern Culture On The Skids, The Dwarves, The Paranoiacs, The Datsuns, Street Dogs, The Untamed Youth, Mike McColgan and the Bomb Squad, Slacktone, Los Skarnales, Surfer Joe and Angry Zeta.
50 Years of Rock ’n’ Roll
-
Sjock started in 1976 as a small local festival in the garden of the parish house in Gierle under the slogan “one stage, one party”.
-
Over five decades it has grown into one of Belgium’s longest-running and most characterful festivals, known for rock ’n’ roll, punk, garagerock and rockabilly, with multiple stages, around forty bands per edition and visitors from all over Europe.
-
The festival is built on a strong volunteer culture: hundreds of Sjockers have been building, serving, carrying and improvising for fifty years to keep the event unique, authentic and slightly crazy.
A Historic Festival Legacy
-
Sjock has built an impressive hall of fame with names like Social Distortion, The Hives, Bad Religion, Refused, Fu Manchu, Flogging Molly and Cock Sparrer.
-
Other legendary past guests include Madness, George Thorogood, Dead Kennedys, Radiohead, Wanda Jackson, TC Matic, The Sonics and The Mavericks, helping to earn the current slogan “Your Rock ’n Roll Highlight of the Year”.
-
The festival remains closely linked to local youth centre ’t Hoekske and positions itself as a rock ’n’ roll pilgrimage: a yearly reunion for like-minded music fans where guitars are loud and denim and tattoos feel like the unofficial dress code.
